ICP HQ WALL
Message from the Architect:
“ICP’s Head Quarters is an intimate space with a focus around collaboration, creativity, and learning. Three large timber logistics bays tower over the main hall and provide a backdrop for the bouldering arena. Each subarea encourages team members to collaborate via a series of meeting hubs and workspaces.
The bouldering wall is a main focal point for anyone who visits the facility and stretches the full length of the building. Grand spans of white textured walls gradually push steeper creating a series of blank canvases for route setters to master their arts and hone their skills. Each angle change is minimal and keeps the climbers honest, while acting as station buffers for route setting classes or workshops. A slim timber web was carefully scribed through the sleek white paint – almost like the wall was showing off its unique double helix in a warm natural tone.
ICP Mats trace the fall zones of the boulder wall and provide extra coverage for route setters to really push moves to another level. The timber trim hugging the matting system brings an earthy feel to the cooler tones of the carpet matting.”
